Best, worst Super Bowl commercials in 2020: The biggest winners & losers from Super Bowl 54

Just like every Super Bowl that has come before it, Super Bowl 54 had some very good commercials and some that were very bad. Here's a rundown of the best and worst commercials from the big game that made people laugh, cry — or left wondering why a company would spend $5.6 million on a Super Bowl ad that provoked no emotion at all. MORE: The 25 best Super Bowl commercials of all time, ranked It’s Groundhog Dog all over again for Bill Murray, who goes on a hilarious adventure with Punxsutawney Phil in Jeep’s Super Bowl commercial that pays homage to the actor’s 1993 comedy classic. Murray is once again trapped in a time loop, forced to relive Groundhog Day, but instead of loathing the day — he actually enjoys it, thanks to the presence of a Jeep and his little groundhog pal. After killing off Mr. Peanut in the days leading up to the Super Bowl, Planters brought him back as the adorable "Baby Nut." The ad featured the Kool-Aid Man, who reincarnated Mr. Peanut with his tears. Here's Mountain Dew Zero! Mountain Dew hilariously recreates the famous ax scene from the 1980 horror film "The Shining." Actor Bryan Cranston plays the role of Jack Torrence to perfection. If you have any feelings at all, you won't make it through this emotional commercial without a tear streaming down your face. The search giant's ad features an elderly gentleman asking his Google Assistant to display stored memories of his late wife, Loretta, so he won't forget her. Stop – it’s Hammertime! In this comical Super Bowl commercial that features MC Hammer, Cheetos helps a man avoid all the things he doesn't want to do because he has Cheetos dust on his hands. Rocket Mortgage's freaky Super Bowl commercial starring Jason Momoa really got people talking. Throughout the ad, the "Aquaman" star was seen getting comfortable at home. As he walked around his house, he peeled off his muscles as if they were fake and also removed a wig to reveal a bald head. "What does home mean to me?" Momoa said in the commercial. "It's my sanctuary. It's the one place I can let my guard down. It's where I can just kick back and be totally comfortable in my own skin." Boston natives Chris Evans, Rachel Dratch and John Krasinski had a little fun with the Boston accent in this funny Hyundai commercial. WeatherTech's commercial moved Super Bowl viewers to tears with an ad about funding cancer treatment for animals. It stars Scout, a 7-year-old golden retriever, who beat cancer despite being given a 1-percent chance of survival. From WeatherTech.com: Last February, he was the shining star of our Super Bowl commercial. Then just a few months later, he collapsed without warning. He was diagnosed with a rare tumor on his heart, and the prognosis wasn’t good. Dogs with his specific type of cancer typically have only a 1% survival rate at 12 months. Fortunately for Scout, he met with a team of exceptional people at The University of Wisconsin School of Veterinary Medicine, one of the leading veterinary schools in the country. These experts (and heroes!) devised a cutting-edge treatment plan that has resulted in Scout’s tumor all but disappearing. Thanks to ongoing treatment at the University, Scout is living his best life! Amazon gives a comical view on the world before Alexa, and asks "What did we do before Alexa?" It stars Ellen DeGeneres and wife Portia de Rossi. These commercials may have appealed to some, but overall failed to impress most Super Bowl viewers. John Legend and Chrissy Teigen are one of America's most-loved celebrity couples, but unfortunately, this Super Bowl ad didn't bring many laughs. Puns are fun but this commercial, starring actress Winona Ryder, seemed to lack comedy. It shows Ryder hanging out on a roadside next to a "Welcome to Winona" sign. When approached by a police officer who asked what she was doing, Winona replies that she's building a website about Winona. McDonald's commercial was creative but felt lacking for such a big franchise. In the 30-second ad, McDonald’s revealed the orders of celebrities like Kanye West and Kim Kardashian and multiple athletes like Magic Johnson and Travis Kelce. They also jokingly highlighted orders from characters including Dracula (who really likes ketchup), the Hamburglar (lots of hamburgers), and even Julius Caesar (a caesar salad).

The Houston Texans have moved to sign Randall Cobb after their shock decision to trade DeAndre Hopkins to the Arizona Cardinals. Wide receiver Cobb has agreed a three-year, $27 million deal with Houston that contains $18.75m in guarantees, according to NFL Network. The move came after star wideout Hopkins was stunningly sent to the Cardinals in a package that saw running back David Johnson move in the other direction. TRADE GRADES: Cardinals hit home run with DeAndre Hopkins; Texans whiff on return Houston also netted a second-round draft pick this year and a fourth-rounder next year, while sending away their 2020 fourth-round selection. Four-time All-Pro Hopkins later tweeted to say the city of Houston will "forever be loved" and stated his new goal was to bring a championship to Arizona. The Texan’s organization served me well, the city of Houston served me well and my teammates served me well. The city of Houston will forever be loved. Now it’s time to bring a cha...

Jose Bautista is attempting a comeback as a two-way player: Does former MLB outfielder have a chance?

José Bautista could be coming to a bullpen near you. People are familiar with the former outfielder of Blue Jays fame for his propensity of launching dingers a long way, his bat flip and the one time he got decked by Rougned Odor. But Bautista, now 39, is attempting a comeback — with a twist. Per ESPN's Jeff Passan, Bautista has been working out in the Dominican Republic as both a hitter and a pitcher. That's right, Bautista is attempting to make a comeback as a two-way player. I've seen video of Jose Bautista throwing a bullpen session. Couldn't tell the velocity, but one source said he can run his fastball up to 94. His slider had legitimate tilt -- threw a short one and a bigger bender. @STR0 said in January he could pitch in a big league bullpen. — Jeff Passan (@JeffPassan) March 2, 2020 Per Passan, Bautista can run his fastball up to 94 mph., which is nothing to thumb your nose at, especially since he is an aging player. Bautista also boasts a slider that a...
